What to Expect in Kingston
Kingston is actually a village in the town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It has a great location, just over a half an hour from Providence. In addition, you can get up to Boston in just one and a half hours and can be on Broadway in New York City in three hours. The village is situated in between Rhode Island Route 1 and Interstate 95, so it's easy to get going. If you need an airport nearby, T.F. Green is only a half hour away and is a simple and easy alternative to larger airports like Boston.

You may to have to travel to get what you need if you live in Kingston. The nearest grocery stores are a few miles away in South Kingstown and neighboring Wakefield. There is a fine natural grocer in South Kingstown and a traditional market in Wakefield.
Fortin Road has plenty of options for restaurants. There is a variety of ethnic fare at the International Pocket Caf and Thai food at Simply Thai. When not touring the local historic sites, many people hop on the highway and head for the entertainment options in Newport, just 20 minutes away. Nearby Providence has a great nightlife and shopping. And don't miss the gorgeous WaterFire shows on the canals in summer.
