Even the name Ashwaubenon exemplifies the village's self awareness of their cultural origins. Named for a brave young Native American that pulled off a daring rescue of a kidnapped maiden, the town dedicated a 86-acre park in honor of its namesake.
An ideal location for those who love the big city lights but aren't fond of the big city lifestyle. Located just south of Green Bay on the Fox River, Ashwaubenon covers just a little over 12 square miles of area with around 16,000 inhabitants.
